We play a fair amount of Guitar Hero. I love it, except I kind of prefer female artists, and there's just a handful of songs by the ladies on these games. I dream about "Guitar Heroine" - a game full of songs by the gals. What are your top five rockin' guitar songs by women?Mine:

1. Janis Joplin: Piece of My Heart/Me and Bobby Mcgee (ok, so she's not really the guitar player so we won't count her)
1a. Melissa Etheridge: Same album as K's but give me Chrome Plated Heart. Because K already put Give Me Some Water. Similar Features is also deadly serious girl rockin'.
2.Supervixen, Garbage. But you could just as easily take three or four other tracks from that album.
3.Just a Girl, No Doubt (but Spiderwebs also rocks).
4. Because the Night, Patti Smith.
5. Strong Enough, Sheryl Crow. Though it was really hard to not go with What I Can Do For You. Plus, Hole in my Pocket...

KHM - What's up was the favorite song of me and my girl posse in high school. It has been played at all of our wedding receptions and we "scream from the top of our lungs." Ha! I love Strong Enough too!

I have to concur with Lyman that nothing associated with Lilith can rock. Not that those artists aren't good: for example, Natalie Merchant is one of my favorite artists, she just doesn't meet the criteria set out for this top five.
